Nourison Jazmine Rug: Exotic Bedroom Update

October 29

I would like to first thank Nourison for gifting me the Jazmin Rug featured in this blog post. Early this year I had a chance to visit the Nourison showroom here in Atlanta. The Nourison selection of rugs and home decor accents is amazing. I spent over an hour deciding how I wanted to update my bedroom. I knew I wanted to stay within my current colors which include pinks, blues and a hint of orange. Typically my bedroom has a romantic and light feel. Its not a time where I want vibrant or intense colors. The Nourison Jazmine Rug is 100% handmade wool with orange, pink and beige tones.

The wool feels like cotton under my feet at night. I have vacuumed it several times and not experienced any shedding. I adore the pattern which is inspired by traditional Oushak rug motifs. The Nourison Jazmine Rug has a hand-tufted pile is thick and lustrous.

The rug in my opinion sets the tone for all other items I bring into the bedroom. I am currently looking for another tapestry for above the bed. I might decorate the headboard for the upcoming holiday season. We shall see what I come up with.

I don’t often make changes in my master bedroom, but sometimes I may update the throw blanket or an accent pillow. Typically I buy only white bedding and some pink quilts and blankets. How do I keep white clean? You bleach it and use a whitener in the wash. I change my sheets weekly and don’t have a problem with staining or discoloration.

How do you like to update your bedroom?

Do you buy new duvets or comforters for each season? I personally only use duvet covers because they take up less space in the linen closet.

I also have a new chest of drawers that I am still working on the styling. Its a light grey with a mirror I found on clearance. I can’t wait to share the other updates once I decide on design and accessories.

I used a rug pad it helps with keep corners down. Here is the link.

There are no words to describe my love for my Mama There are no words to describe my love for my Mama fully. She was my biggest fan, my greatest supporter, and the one who helped me navigate life through its many ups and downs. She prayed for me, encouraged me, and always believed in me, even when I doubted myself.

I owe her my life's work and every accolade I've achieved. She saw me through undergrad, guided me as I navigated Corporate America—even though she had never experienced it herself—and kept me grounded through it all.

She prayed with me in moments of joy and in times of need. She stood proudly by my side on my wedding day and cried with me through some of the most challenging moments of my life.

My mom saved my life in more ways than I can count. Her love and guidance shaped the person I am today, and her passing has forever changed me.

On November 26, 2024, Esther Gleaton went home to be with her ancestors. I find comfort in knowing she is finally at rest, free from pain, and in eternal peace.

My mother bravely faced a short but aggressive battle with Plasma Cell Leukemia, spending 72 days fighting inpatient at the Northside Hospital Cancer Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. She fought with courage, grace, and incredible strength.

In sickness and health, my father, Orbie Gleaton, was by her side daily. He saw her through the very dark days and celebrated the joyful moments with her.

His love and devotion to my mom never wavered—he never left her side. The love they shared is eternal and serves as a beautiful testament to the bond they built together.

Mama, your love will guide me forever. You are my heart, and I will carry you with me always.
