How to Create the life you want?

How to Create the life you want?

How to create the life you want?  Is a question that I asked myself over and over again at the beginning of this year? I didn’t have any idea, but now that I’m focused on creating a life that’s all I about me and no one else I can tell you a thing or two about it.

Almost halfway through this year and I am just finding my way. I started off the year a little rocky and hoping for the best. I have battled depression and faced it head-on and got help. I have a therapist and I do daily things to make life better.

It’s easy to decide that your life is not worth living if you look across social media and see how fabulous everyone else’s life is. I have to remember that they are only sharing the highlights of their life and they have challenges and may even have sleepless nights like myself.

I bought a Giving Key to remind me I’m on this path to create the life I want this year. I am kicking people out my life and not apologizing for any hurt feelings. I have a life to live and I am going to live it on my terms without any regrets. Therefore, I’ve been focusing on going after my dreams and being creative through my blog and in my home projects.  It feels so good to be free and happy.

Here are some things that you can do that will help you create the life you want:

  • Let go of bad people and habits. Check out this meditation to release and forgive past relationships.
  • Set goals that are clear and direct.
  • Believe in the power of self.
  • My a list of things you want.
  • Take ownership for yourself and accept that you’ve made good and bad decisions.
  • Find joy in yourself and taking care of you.
  • Focus on self-care.

Yes, girl! I didn’t think it would be such a motivator but I can’t leave the house without it.

Letting go of bad relationships is HUGE for living a happy life. This was one of my goals for 2016 and has made a big impact.

There are no words to describe my love for my Mama There are no words to describe my love for my Mama fully. She was my biggest fan, my greatest supporter, and the one who helped me navigate life through its many ups and downs. She prayed for me, encouraged me, and always believed in me, even when I doubted myself.

I owe her my life's work and every accolade I've achieved. She saw me through undergrad, guided me as I navigated Corporate America—even though she had never experienced it herself—and kept me grounded through it all.

She prayed with me in moments of joy and in times of need. She stood proudly by my side on my wedding day and cried with me through some of the most challenging moments of my life.

My mom saved my life in more ways than I can count. Her love and guidance shaped the person I am today, and her passing has forever changed me.

On November 26, 2024, Esther Gleaton went home to be with her ancestors. I find comfort in knowing she is finally at rest, free from pain, and in eternal peace.

My mother bravely faced a short but aggressive battle with Plasma Cell Leukemia, spending 72 days fighting inpatient at the Northside Hospital Cancer Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. She fought with courage, grace, and incredible strength.

In sickness and health, my father, Orbie Gleaton, was by her side daily. He saw her through the very dark days and celebrated the joyful moments with her.

His love and devotion to my mom never wavered—he never left her side. The love they shared is eternal and serves as a beautiful testament to the bond they built together.

Mama, your love will guide me forever. You are my heart, and I will carry you with me always.
