Holiday time means treat time in my home. I enjoy baking and serving simple and easy food during this season. Homemade treats are the best gifts. Today, I am sharing a childhood favorite that is a staple at every holiday gathering. Not to mention kids can join in on the fun. It’s that simple and no fuss to make.
Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® are simply the best marshmallow treat. You only need three ingredients. If you keep your pantry stocked with the important things like me. Like for example marshmallows, butter, and Rice Krispies® are always on my list. Then you can make these in no time. However, don’t worry I got all my supplies at Wal-mart.
Although the traditional recipe for Rice Krispie treats is a favorite, there are many ways to make them unique. You can add food coloring to the mix, or you can decorate the top with icing and cake decorations. My take on the traditional treat is a holiday ornament with cookie icing. I’m telling you just adding icing on top makes this treat worthy of any holiday gathering.
I am all about simple, and this recipe can be completed with the help of the kids and doesn’t even require a stove if you want to melt the butter and marshmallows in the microwave. I’m not going to pass any judgment if you choose this route.
